Crochet & Knitting Lessons for March

Here is a list of daytime and evening crochet and knitting lessons for March 2015. If you like what you see but can’t make the date/time or if you would like to learn a particular technique, but don’t see it on the list, please let me know. My lessons are quite flexible and I might be able to schedule your request for next month.

I have included short descriptions of the classes and you might be able to find more details under Lessons, but if you are not sure if the particular lesson is for you and would like more details that please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Daytime Lessons

Crochet

IMG_0419Learn to crochet – basic stitches – 3rd March from 9:45 a.m.

Great introduction to crochet for those who are just starting out. We will start with the chain stitch and progress to double and treble stitches. We will be crocheting in the row. You can learn more stitches, depending on your ability. It’s a very relaxed lesson, we will take things slowly. You get a hook and some yarn to take home to practise.

Granny squares -17th March from 9:45 a.m.

The most popular lesson. Granny squares are great introduction to crochet, you will be making blankets and squares in no time! Suitable for complete beginners or those who attended the basic stitches class. You get hook and some yarn to take home to practise what you learn.

Learn to crochet flowers – 18th March from 9:45 a.m.IMG_3335

So you don’t fancy granny squares but would like to be able to make something? Than this lesson is for you. Suitable for compete beginners or those who know the basic stitches. We will start with simple chain flowers and than move on more complicated ones; using double and treble stitches. You get hook and some yarn to take home to practise. And of course all the flowers you make.

Beyond the granny square – 24th March from 9:45 a.m.

So you have done the granny square but would like to learn more? Then book this lesson now. During the lesson we will learn the double and half treble stitches. We will look at crochet in the round and in rows and (if time allows) also at reading patterns. This lesson expects you to have some experience.

Knitting

This is a nice and gentle introduction to knitting, no previous experience necessary. You will learn the knit and purl stitches, how to cast on cast off. We will talk about how to get the correct yarn for your projects. You will get needles and some yarn to take home to practise.

Beyond the knit and purl stitches – 11th March from 9:45 a.m.

If you already know how to make the knit and purl stitches and would like to move on with your knitting, this is the lesson for you. We will look at shaping – increasing and decreasing, combining the knit and purl stitches in more complicated patterns. We will look at understanding basic patterns and making swatch samples to ensure you garment is the correct size.

Pattern reading and finishing techniques – 25th February from 9:45 a.m.

IMG_0561This is the most advanced knitting lesson. If you can do the basic stitches and increase and decrease and would like to move onto more complicated patterns, this is for you. We will look at reading patterns, and what needs to be done before sewing your pieces together. You are welcome to bring your projects and patterns and ask specific questions.

Evening Lessons

All lessons take place in my house in Pucklechurch and are limited to 6 people per class. This allows the lessons to be relaxed, fun, flexible and tailored to your individual needs.
